Big fat Indian wedding planner

Five functions, three venues, six hundred guests and one family who should be present for all of it. We run the operation behind the spectacle, so the spectacle feels effortless.

We take on 60 weddings a year — 10 dates remaining in 2026–27.

What makes a wedding big fat

Not just the guest count. A big fat Indian wedding is three or more days, four or five functions, several venues and guests arriving from many cities. Each part is simple. Running all of them at once, on time, while the family hosts, is the job.

  • 300 to 1,000+ guests across the functions
  • Haldi, mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception, each with its own look
  • Room blocks spread across more than one hotel
  • A baraat, a band, a stage and a dance floor that all need the same clock

Where big weddings actually fit

Capacity rules out more venues than budget does. In Delhi NCR, five-star ballrooms and farmhouse lawns are built for 400 and more. In Goa only a handful of resorts can feed 400 guests across several functions. In Chandigarh, JW Marriott's ballroom lawns hold up to 1,200. We shortlist by capacity first, then by look.

  • Delhi NCR: five-star ballrooms and Chhatarpur farmhouses
  • Udaipur and Jaipur: palace hotels, often with a second property for rooms
  • Goa: Taj Exotica, Grand Hyatt and Zuri White Sands for 400+
  • Chandigarh: JW Marriott Grand Ballroom and lawns

The operation behind the spectacle

At this size the wedding is a small city for three days. We run a hospitality desk, rooming lists across hotels, airport and station transfers, a run sheet for every function and a team on the ground at every venue. Families get one number to call and nothing else to manage.

Cost honesty for big weddings

Guest count is the biggest lever, because every guest at a destination is rooms times nights times plates. As a working range across our weddings, a destination wedding runs roughly ₹55,000 per guest all-in in Goa and ₹68,000 in Udaipur, before GST. Our planning fee is published and fixed, not a percentage of that total.

Who we are for

Families who want the full celebration and still want to be in it. We carry around 60 weddings a year with a 24-person full-time team, so a six-hundred-guest weekend gets the same planning lead from the first call to the vidaai.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a big fat Indian wedding?

A large, multi-day Indian wedding: usually 300 or more guests, four or five functions such as haldi, mehendi, sangeet, the wedding and the reception, and often several venues and hotels. The phrase is about scale and celebration rather than a fixed guest number.

How much does a big fat Indian wedding cost?

It depends most on guest count and where guests stay. As a working range across our weddings, destination weddings run roughly ₹55,000 per guest all-in in Goa and ₹68,000 in Udaipur, covering venue, food, stay, décor, hospitality and production, with GST usually extra. Our own planning fee is published, from ₹2,50,000 plus GST.

Which venues can host 500 or more guests?

In Delhi NCR, five-star ballrooms and farmhouse lawns. In Chandigarh, JW Marriott's ballroom lawns hold up to 1,200 by Marriott's capacity chart. In Goa, only a handful of resorts, such as Taj Exotica, Grand Hyatt and Zuri White Sands, have the space and kitchens for 400-plus across several functions. Palace weddings in Udaipur and Jaipur often add a second hotel for rooms.

How early should we start planning a big wedding?

Fourteen to eighteen months for a peak-season destination wedding, because the best venues book 12 to 16 months ahead and large room blocks need contracting early. Twelve months is workable for a home-city wedding.

Do you handle guests flying in from abroad?

Yes. We run the room blocks, rooming lists, airport transfers, a guest helpdesk and travel notes for every guest, including families coming from the UK, US and the Gulf.
