In short
A two-day Kashmir wedding with every room booked runs about ₹50 lakh–1.7 crore at the big Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam hotels and ₹10–40 lakh at 4-star hotels, before décor. Spring and autumn suit Srinagar; December to February brings snow to Gulmarg. Only two valley hotels hold bar licences.
Where to marry in Kashmir
Srinagar for the lakefront and the biggest ballrooms; Gulmarg for snow; Pahalgam for riverside lawns on the Lidder; Sonamarg for small, remote weddings.
- Srinagar: The LaLiT Grand Palace, Taj Dal View, Radisson Collection Riverfront
- Gulmarg: The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa
- Pahalgam: Welcomhotel by ITC Pine N Peak, Radisson Golf Resort
Pick the season first
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) suit Srinagar and Pahalgam. Gulmarg is snow from December to February. Avoid Pahalgam in July and August, when the Amarnath Yatra fills the town.
Rules that shape the plan
Only The LaLiT and Taj Dal View hold bar licences in the valley; elsewhere a one-day excise permit costs about ₹7,000 a function. Loudspeakers stop at 10 pm outside closed halls, so sangeets move indoors.
Food is Wazwan
The Kashmiri feast runs to 36 dishes, mostly mutton, served on a shared copper trami. Wazas charge by meat weight, so plan the menu with them, not with the hotel's banquet list.
How we plan it
One accountable team for venue, rooms, guest flights into Srinagar, road transfers to Gulmarg and Pahalgam, permits, décor and the days themselves. Our fee is fixed and published.
