How much does a wedding in Srinagar cost?

Which 5-star hotels in Srinagar host weddings?

Three: The LaLiT Grand Palace (113 rooms, 40,000 sq ft of lawns on Dal Lake), Taj Dal View (103 rooms, formerly Vivanta) and Radisson Collection Riverfront (212 rooms, opened 2024). The Tourism Ministry has formally classified only one 5-star hotel in J&K since 2019, so most labels you see are the hotels' own.

Can you serve alcohol at a Srinagar wedding?

Only The LaLiT and Taj Dal View hold bar licences in the Kashmir valley. Anywhere else, the Excise Department issues a per-event permit: ₹7,000 a function at a hotel, plus ₹3,000 an hour for late serving. Serving without one draws a ₹30,000 fine.

When is the best time for a Srinagar wedding?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). September and October are the driest months for outdoor functions. The Tulip Garden blooms from mid-March to mid-April; plan around it if you want it in the photos.

Can you hold a function at the Mughal gardens or on Dal Lake?

The Floriculture Department, which runs Nishat, Shalimar and Chashme Shahi, publishes permits for photo and video shoots, not weddings. Couples use the gardens for pre-wedding shoots and keep the functions at a hotel; houseboats and shikaras suit an intimate entry or nikah.

What should guests know before flying in?

Srinagar airport is an Air Force field that ran civil flights 8 am to 5 pm through October 2026, and snow or security alerts can close it, so keep a buffer day. Guests need photo ID at all times, and hotels report foreign guests to police within 24 hours.
