Pre-Wedding Shoot Cost in India 2026: Packages by City, Permit Fees and the Best Months to Shoot
In short
Expect ₹10,000–30,000 for a half day with one photographer, ₹25,000–60,000 for a full day with two or three outfits and a short teaser, and ₹60,000–1.5 lakh and above for cinematic films with a drone. Jaipur packages start at ₹15,000 for photos and ₹35,000 with video; Goa and Udaipur full days run ₹25,000–1 lakh. Add permits of ₹5,000–15,000 and 18% GST.
The pre-wedding shoot has become its own line on the wedding sheet, and one with a wide spread: the same couple can spend ₹10,000 or ₹1.5 lakh for an afternoon. The figures here come from photographers' own published package pages in Jaipur, Delhi and Goa, read in October 2026, with listings and blogs marked where that is all there is. 18 percent GST is usually extra.
The price bands
The bands. A half day with one photographer and one location runs ₹10,000–30,000. A full day with two or three outfits, two locations and a short teaser runs ₹25,000–60,000. Cinematic shoots, with a drone, a filmed story and a team of two or three, run ₹60,000 to ₹1.5 lakh and beyond. Delhi studios publish packages at ₹15,000, ₹30,000 and ₹85,000; a Jaipur studio lists ₹15,000 for photos, ₹35,000 for photo and video and ₹50,000 for the cinematic set. Goa and Udaipur have no package pages to cite, but listings put full days at ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh.

What drives the price
What drives the price. Hours and the number of locations first, then the team size, then the deliverables: edited photo count, teaser length, drone, album. Travel and stay for an out-of-town team can add as much as the shoot. Props, outfits and makeup are almost never included. Compare two quotes on the deliverables list, because a ₹30,000 package with 60 edited photos and a teaser can be better value than a ₹50,000 one with 25 photos.
Permits
Permits. Heritage locations charge, and the fee is often not published. Sunder Nursery in Delhi publishes ₹5,900 for a four-hour shoot including GST. Rajasthan's archaeology department lists ₹5,000 a day for still photography at its monuments; Jaipur photographers quote ₹5,000–15,000 for fort shoots in 2026. Delhi's ASI monuments and Lodhi Garden publish no fee, and photographers' quotes range from free to ₹15,000, so have the photographer confirm the permit and its cost in writing. Private resorts usually charge a location fee or ask you to book a room.
The best months
The best months. October to February gives cool mornings, clear light and the heritage backdrops at their best, in Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi and Goa alike. It is also peak wedding season, so the good teams need two to three months' notice. March to May is workable at 6–9 am, before the heat. June to September is the monsoon: greens, drama and 10–15% lower rates, with an indoor backup location in the plan. Whatever the month, shoot in the first three hours of light or the last two.
If the shoot is part of a wedding we are planning, we fold it into the photography contract so the team, the permits and the invite video come from one place.
Common questions
How much does a pre-wedding shoot cost in India?+
Expect ₹10,000–30,000 for a half day with one photographer, ₹25,000–60,000 for a full day with two or three outfits and a short teaser, and ₹60,000–1.5 lakh and above for cinematic films with a drone. Jaipur packages start at ₹15,000 for photos and ₹35,000 with video; Goa and Udaipur full days run ₹25,000–1 lakh. Add permits of ₹5,000–15,000 and 18% GST.
Which month is best for a pre-wedding shoot?+
October to February: cool, clear light and the best heritage backdrops in Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi and Goa, but it is peak wedding season, so book two to three months ahead. March to May works for early-morning shoots; June to September gives monsoon greens at 10–15% lower rates with an indoor backup. Shoot at 6–9 am or 4–6 pm.
Do you need a permit for a pre-wedding shoot?+
At most heritage sites and public gardens, yes. Sunder Nursery in Delhi publishes ₹5,900 for four hours including GST; Rajasthan's archaeology department lists ₹5,000 a day for still photography at its monuments, and Jaipur fort shoots are quoted at ₹5,000–15,000 by photographers. Delhi's ASI monuments and Lodhi Garden publish no fee; photographers quote ₹2,000–15,000 or free. Ask the photographer to confirm it in writing.
What does a pre-wedding package include?+
A half-day package is one photographer, one location and 30–50 edited photos. A full day adds a second location, two or three outfit changes, an assistant and a 30–60-second teaser. Cinematic packages add a drone, a filmed story and often the WhatsApp invite. Travel, permits, props, makeup and GST are usually extra, so compare the deliverables list, not the headline.
