Published prices: a private buffet about ₹5,300 a head with VAT at a four-star, an open bar about ₹5,500 a head for 6–11 pm, local décor ₹30,000–1.6 lakh and a resort arch ₹30,000–64,000, a DJ ₹30,000–80,000, bridal mehendi ₹7,000–25,000, makeup ₹8,000–1.3 lakh, photography ₹30,000–1.3 lakh, a horse carriage about €750 an hour, fireworks €2,250 for three minutes at one resort, and 22-seat coaches ₹31,000–45,000 a day. VAT is 15% and a €3 a night tourist fee applies.
No. Indian passport holders enter visa-free with a free digital arrival form. Return fares from Delhi and Mumbai ran ₹37,000–94,000 a guest in the published calendars, among the longest flights of any destination we priced, so the guest list tends to stay small.
Yes. Mauritius marries visiting couples at the civil status office for small official fees, with the notice and documents arranged through the resort's wedding desk, and the certificate is recognised in India. Hindu ceremonies are common on the island, with local pandits and mandap suppliers used to Indian weddings.
May to October is cooler and dry, with the east and south coasts breezy; November to April is warm and humid, with cyclone risk from January to March. Resorts enforce a 50-decibel limit after 21:00, so outdoor sangeets end early. Coaches are scarce from November to April, so book transport with the rooms.
The south-coast and east-coast resorts with 150 rooms and more, several of which have Indian cooks on staff. Many ask for a full or near-full buyout and a three-night minimum in high season, so the room count, not the lawn, decides the shortlist.
